Edinburgh Day Trip

I know Valentines day was a while ago now, but I just thought I would post some of the pictures I took and tell you a little bit about what I did when I visited Edinburgh with one of my best friends to celebrate the day!

After singing the whole car journey there, when we arrived we spent around an hour just wandering up and down Princes Street. We popped into a couple of shops such as Topshop and Miss Selfridge but I have to say I was really disappointed with the range on offer so then we turned our attention to lunch. It's easy to just pop into Costa for a panini or even McDonalds for a burger but since it was Valentines Day we decided to try somewhere we hadn't been before. After walking the length of princes street and George street (multiple times) we stumbled across a bar/café called Ryan's right at the furthest West side of Princes Street. We decided to sit in the little café attached to but separate from the bar because we got the most amazing view of the castle and got to just sit and watch the world go by. It was really lovely so if you are looking for a quick soup and a sandwich when you are in Edinburgh I really recommend you go and have a look!

Walking around Edinburgh you are completely surrounded by history at all times, and the transition from the new town into the old town is still visible. The windy and uneven streets and beautiful architecture really add so much character to the city and I always forget how much I love it when I don't visit it for a while! There truly are so many things to do; we spent our afternoon at the National Museum of Scotland which is most definitely worth a visit if you are spending a couple of days or more in the city!

Let me know in the comments what you're favourite areas of the city are so that I can check them out next time I am down!
XOXO
