A Sunday Exploring

Happy Wednesday my lovelies, I hope you are all having an amazing week so far! This little post might seem a little random since it is not a Sunday, but I wanted to share just a couple of snaps that I took last Sunday when I went out exploring and give you a little inspiration when planning your own weekends. I've said this before, but Sunday's can be funny days in Germany as none of the shops are open and not all of the cafes and restaurants are open either. Because of this, many Germans turn to more outdoors based activities and last Sunday I joined them by taking my lil old bike out for a run.

I cycled the 8km to the nearby city of Fürth, which actually led me along quite a pretty path beside the river. I then met my friend for coffee in one of the few shops that were open and then off we went! We had no real plan, just vaguely following the cycle route in the countryside nearby. We found a nice hill, had a wee wander up it and were rewarded by this great view. You could see the skyline of the nearby city of Erlangen on one side, all the way across to the skyline of Nuremberg on the other.

It was such a great, cheap and easy way for me to spend my Sunday. As my year abroad is slowly nearing its end, I'm determined to make the most of every day and see as much of the area round about as possible. So if you are finding yourself at a loss for what to do this weekend, get outside, have a walk around and explore somewhere nearby that you maybe haven't before. You never know what you will find!

XOXO

  5. The 8km journey to Fiirth sounds lovely, rolling alongside the river - I can imagine how special that same journey must be during the summertime too!
